T’keyah Ware belongs to the Antikirinya/Wirangu peoples on her mother and father’s side, she was born in Port Augusta in 2002 and spent her growing up years in Ceduna on the west coast of South Australia. T’keyah’s great Grandmother Millie Taylor (nee Lennon “Deceased) and mother Kelly Taylor are the inspiration behind all of the amazing paintings and stories that T’keyah creates.
T’keyah’s great-great-grandmother is half Antikirinya and half Arrernte. She has many accomplishments as a young artist with an award as Highly Commended she received during the Our Young Mob exhibition. Featured on the notable Vogue Living, Collaborations with Royal Flying doctors & Disney Australia, articles with SBS NITV, ABC Eyre Peninsula, National Indigenous Times & Homes to Love Australia. T’keyah picked up the paintbrush when she was just 13 years and fell in love with it, today she continues to learn from her mum Kelly Taylor how to create a painting using different stories, designs, techniques, style and how to blend colours to create her own paintings that shows her family and great grandmothers’ journey across country hunting and gathering traditional foods to survive off the land.
Her style of dot artwork is spread out over the canvas in multiple colours to give her paintings an eye-catching effect that makes her artworks exquisite, culturally significant, and breath-taking.
