Having been an elite rhythmic gymnast in my earlier years, artistic expression has always been a big part of my life. Now some decades on, having completed a career as a dancer my body needed rest. My love for nature has featured heavily in my life too. These combined is what I draw inspiration from. The need to express what words may not and the limitless beauty of nature. I have travelled extensively in Australia. Having spent many years out in remote areas, in the central deserts, up north and in some of the pristine forests and coastlines this land had to offer. I never tire of the space, the power and the serenity of this land. It offers me the solace when society cannot. Having battled also with mental health over the years and finding a sense of belonging, art is a tool I use to quiet my mind and emotions. As they say "it's better out than in". Art for me is a necessity, and I believe it to be an enormously enriching thing for both the creator and the beholder.
