Artwork Description

Salt Bloom is a purple–pink abstract artwork inspired by the natural beauty of salt lakes. Soft washes of purple and magenta flow together like water meeting land, while crystalline textures suggest the bloom of minerals across the surface. The piece captures the serene yet otherworldly feeling of standing at the edge of a salt lake where colour shimmers, light bends, and the landscape feels both grounded and dreamlike. Salt Bloom is a meditation on stillness, expansion, and the quiet poetry of nature’s palette.

Artist Bio

Talia is an abstract artist living and working in Western Australia. Her art is an expression of her deep love and appreciation for the natural world. Talia’s expression is articulated through her use of colour and detail. Her paintings capture the vastness of landscapes, as well as the depth of subtlety that exists around us. Talia’s current study is the duality and replication of form, specifically the bifurcation structure- the natural branching pattern which is present in tree branches, corals and waterways. Her ability to paint works which represent the vast and the miniscule at the same time is exciting and unique. The product is art which is continuously intriguing and emotive to the beholder as its form takes on their perspective at a given point in time.
Talia is a continuous observer of the natural world from the red dust and turquoise waters of Broome to the corals of the northwest, the seaside, storms and sunsets of Perth and the rich greens of the South West. “I watch the world each day with wonder, my eyes drink in the colour of each day, each hour, the light changes, and every moment is more unique and more beautiful than the last. As humans we are both giants and ants in this world, and I have a desire to capture this perspective in my work. My colours are inspired by the seasons and flow onto the canvas instinctively. I spend many hours snorkeling in the summer and autumn and traversing the bush in winter and spring. Nature is my muse. I know a piece is complete when I look at it and I feel immersed, like in nature – my heart skips a beat.”
