Tania Aliis is a South Australian contemporary artist recognised for her bold, neon-infused mixed-media abstracts and expressive Australian landscapes. Her work is distinguished by vibrant colour palettes, layered textures and dynamic mark-making that evoke both emotional depth and a strong sense of place.
Raised in the artistically rich community of Unley, Tania was immersed early in a culture that valued creativity, design and individuality. This foundation continues to influence her practice, where instinct, intuition and experimentation guide her process. Her paintings balance structure and spontaneity, combining considered composition with energetic brushwork, drips and unexpected colour contrasts.
Tania’s recent collections explore kaleidoscopic abstraction alongside modern interpretations of Australian landscapes, including wine regions and rolling rural vistas. Through exaggerated colour and luminous highlights, she reimagines familiar terrain with a contemporary, emotive edge. Her work often plays with light- beams, reflections and layered tonal shifts, symbolising growth, resilience and transformation.
She studied Visual Communications (Graphic Design) at the University of South Australia in 2004, followed by Visual Arts at the South Australian School of Art in 2007. This dual foundation in design and fine art informs her confident use of colour, spatial balance and visual storytelling.
Tania works from her studio and gallery space in Stepney, South Australia, where collectors can view her latest bodies of work. Her paintings are held in private collections across Australia and are known for bringing warmth, vibrancy and contemporary energy into modern interiors.
