Artwork Description

Rhymes of the Ocean – Diptych
Rhymes of the Ocean is a meditative diptych that captures the shifting rhythms and layered textures of water through abstract form. Each canvas was created using a palette knife and brush, building up soft waves, shimmering lines, and mosaic-like segments in tones of seafoam, aqua, navy, and muted neutrals. The result is a tranquil yet dynamic pair of paintings—infused with the calm energy of oceanic movement.

This diptych belongs to my Ocean’s Rhymes series and offers a complementary variation in style and rhythm. One panel features organic vertical flows, while the other presents a grid-like composition of softened rectangles. Together, they evoke the dual nature of the sea: both structured and free-flowing.

Ideal for serene interiors—such as yoga studios, bedrooms, reception areas, or open-plan homes—the pair brings a soothing, contemporary elegance to any wall. Their gentle energy and rich surface texture invite closer inspection and quiet reflection.

This is a listing for two original artworks, each measuring 91 x 122 x 4 cm. They are designed to be displayed side-by-side as a diptych. They may also be spaced apart or styled with other works from the same series.

It will arrive signed on the front with the initials, on the back is my full name, the name of the painting and the year it was created. The edges are painted light grey. They can be hung as is, framing is optional.

Artist Bio

Tania’s art is about colour, pattern, and texture. Growing up next to the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the heart of Russian art, Tania’s childhood was filled with inspiration. This continued into her early adulthood while living and studying in London, where she enjoyed the plethora of galleries and museums both there and across Europe. During her studies in Architectural Design, Tania built a strong understanding of form and structure, and developed a deep connection with painting. Working as an interior designer had a huge impact on how she viewed art and its role in transforming interior spaces.

“Paintings resonate with people for different reasons: some might be looking for an emotional connection, some to fit a certain space and colour scheme. Artwork can transform spaces more than anything else. It can tie colours that you love together, and fill the space with cosiness and warmth. This is what makes it home.”

Now living on the Gold Coast and enjoying the vibrancy of Australia’s landscapes and culture, Tania’s latest works incorporate mixed media into her oil and acrylic pieces. She finds this further imbues her love of texture and layering into the rich hues of colour that remain at the core of her art.

“Painting for me is a form of meditation. My flower garden is a great inspiration. All sorts of colours mix together and create a wonderful harmony.”
