Artwork Description

Please note that the artwork is currently unframed. It is stretched and ready to hang (4 cm deep, with a wire at the back). Framing is optional, and this option can be easily removed if you choose.

Introducing my new 'Cascades' series—a true labour of love. Using the highest quality acrylic paint and a variety of texture mediums, day after day, this mosaic-like structure was created. With infinite tints and shades of colour, each palette knife stroke was strategically placed. The dabs have a variety of textures ranging from standard impasto medium to sandy moulding paste to Italian ceramic stucco mixtures. It might not be visible at first glance, but the different ways they reflect light add an extra dimension to this artwork. The texture of this piece is amazing—you can see and feel it.

This is a listing for a diptych. Each piece measures 91x61x4 cm. They can be hung next to each other or separated—for example, along the stairway or a long wall, on each side of the door, or on different panels. They also can be displayed horizontally or vertically. I believe this flexibility is an incredible advantage. They are also offered for sale individually in separate listings and as part of a triptych. There are total of 6 paintings in the series that can be combined in different ways.

It's signed on the front with the initials, on the back is my full name, the name of the painting and the year it was created. The edges are painted light neutral grey. It's varnished and ready to be displayed for years to come.

Artist Bio

Tania’s art is about colour, pattern, and texture. Growing up next to the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the heart of Russian art, Tania’s childhood was filled with inspiration. This continued into her early adulthood while living and studying in London, where she enjoyed the plethora of galleries and museums both there and across Europe. During her studies in Architectural Design, Tania built a strong understanding of form and structure, and developed a deep connection with painting. Working as an interior designer had a huge impact on how she viewed art and its role in transforming interior spaces.

“Paintings resonate with people for different reasons: some might be looking for an emotional connection, some to fit a certain space and colour scheme. Artwork can transform spaces more than anything else. It can tie colours that you love together, and fill the space with cosiness and warmth. This is what makes it home.”

Now living on the Gold Coast and enjoying the vibrancy of Australia’s landscapes and culture, Tania’s latest works incorporate mixed media into her oil and acrylic pieces. She finds this further imbues her love of texture and layering into the rich hues of colour that remain at the core of her art.

“Painting for me is a form of meditation. My flower garden is a great inspiration. All sorts of colours mix together and create a wonderful harmony.”
