Artwork Description

Bring a sense of calm movement and luminous atmosphere into your space with Tidal Light, an original painting inspired by the gentle rhythm of water and shifting coastal light. Soft horizontal layers of colour drift across the surface, creating a tranquil composition that feels both expansive and meditative.
The palette blends cool oceanic blues and teals with muted greys, soft whites and subtle neutral undertones. These tones move fluidly across the canvas, evoking reflections on water, distant horizons and the quiet stillness of tidal landscapes. The interplay between blurred edges and more defined marks adds depth while maintaining a serene, cohesive feel.
Created with expressive, layered brushwork, the painting has a light textural quality that enhances its atmospheric presence without overwhelming the space. From a distance, it reads as a soft, luminous field; up close, delicate variations in tone and gesture reveal themselves.
This nature-inspired abstraction offers a calming, refined presence—ideal for contemporary interiors seeking a sense of openness and quiet sophistication. It works beautifully as a statement piece in living rooms, dining areas and bedrooms, as well as in professional settings such as offices, wellness spaces and boutique interiors.
This is a listing for a single original painting on canvas, measuring 122 × 91 × 4 cm.
The artwork can be displayed either vertically or horizontally, allowing it to adapt beautifully to different spaces and interior compositions.
The painting is signed on the back with my full name, the artwork title and the year of creation. The edges are painted a soft neutral grey so it can be displayed unframed for a clean, contemporary finish.

Artist Bio

Tania’s art is about colour, pattern, and texture. Growing up next to the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the heart of Russian art, Tania’s childhood was filled with inspiration. This continued into her early adulthood while living and studying in London, where she enjoyed the plethora of galleries and museums both there and across Europe. During her studies in Architectural Design, Tania built a strong understanding of form and structure, and developed a deep connection with painting. Working as an interior designer had a huge impact on how she viewed art and its role in transforming interior spaces.

“Paintings resonate with people for different reasons: some might be looking for an emotional connection, some to fit a certain space and colour scheme. Artwork can transform spaces more than anything else. It can tie colours that you love together, and fill the space with cosiness and warmth. This is what makes it home.”

Now living on the Gold Coast and enjoying the vibrancy of Australia’s landscapes and culture, Tania’s latest works incorporate mixed media into her oil and acrylic pieces. She finds this further imbues her love of texture and layering into the rich hues of colour that remain at the core of her art.

“Painting for me is a form of meditation. My flower garden is a great inspiration. All sorts of colours mix together and create a wonderful harmony.”
