Artwork Description

Mixed Media on paper

Signed on the front.

Heritage listed Plaza building designed by Eric Heath, constructed 1929-30, opened April 1930. Closed as a cinema in 1977, the foyer converted to a MacDonald's and the auditorium converted to a skating rink, concert venue and restaurant. In 1995 Planet Hollywood moved in to share the space with Australian music retailer Brashs, and when Brashs went bust in 1998, Star Bar took over the space. Planet Hollywood closed in 2002, Star Bar kept the globe and remained in business until 2020. Now, apparently closed for repairs.

This urban landscape is in Sydney's CBD. I love how the buildings on one side reflect those on the other side. This is a view of the city from Blackwattle Park overlooking Blackwattle Bay.This is a beautiful part of Sydney Harbour that I love more each time I catch the Balmain Ferry. This is a beautifully elegant building in the historic Rocks area of Sydney.
