I live within walking distance of natural bush land, it’s called a “green wedge.” A pocket of nature preserved in the outer suburbs where wildlife can roam freely. This land is home to mobs of magnificent kangaroos called “Eastern Greys.” “Nature’s Gift” was created from a photo I took of a kangaroo while bush walking.
As an Artist I fluctuate between very detailed painting with fine brush strokes to much looser painterly strokes applied roughly with a palette knife as in “Nature’s Gift” This painting captures the essence of the moment in the bush. Details are stripped back to simplicity and the background bush represented only by colour.
