Time traveller

Almost all my paintings are intuitive. I never plan what I'm about to paint. I look at the painting once it is finished and then consider what it means to me. I think art work takes on a different meaning for each viewer.
This one to me, is about a traveller through time, planting seeds of joy and hope wherever she goes. It's something I aspire to. I hope my paintings and my words can do just that.
This painting is neatly painted around the edges so that framing is not necessary. High quality artist oil paints are used and the painting is finished off with a gloss varnish.

Tania Weekes is a Newcastle artist. Originally from Sydney, she has had a passion for art all her life and has been a practicing artist for over 20 years.
She studied the Diploma in Fine arts at Seaforth Tafe in Sydney and Diploma in Graphic Design online through CATCA (Billy Blue Design School)
Tania has exhibited throughout NSW and teaches art in Newcastle. She also paints murals locally for private homes and businesses.
Her main influences are abstract expressionism and symbolism. Her work is God inspired, sometimes prophetic and usually, totally unplanned.
Each painting revealing glimpses of a story that lures the viewer to look deeper into their own story.
Her aim is to uncover places in the psyche that connect with her work on a spiritual level.
Her love of colour shows in the vibrancy of her canvases. Her preferred medium is oils.
