As a Visual Arts teacher for the past 23 years I have had the pleasure of sharing and making art with children. I work across many mediums in the classroom however my love of painting with acrylics has always been a constant. Working with acrylics brings me much joy through the creative process where every mark is a rewarding experience.
Based in SA I have had the privilege of being surrounded by beautiful and inspiring landscapes capturing my particular love of flora and fauna that I experience daily. I also have a passion for designing beautiful homes where artwork is central to completing spaces for occupants to enjoy.
Completing my Bachelor of Education with a variety of art disciplines intertwined left me with a passion and desire to let my creative nature flourish. On completing my degree that saw me create art through the discipline of photography, graphic design, jewellery making, clay production, brass casting and moulding and cold working glass I realised quickly that I needed to incorporate this love into my daily work. I have been extremely fortunate to have held a Visual Arts teaching job for many years, a joy in my life.
It’s now time to share my love of painting with the wider community. I love creating work that celebrates the amazing flora and fauna we are so spoilt with in our beautiful country. Capturing the intricate shapes and colours that bring life and vibrancy to our existence is a focus for me and I will be endeavouring to bring this beauty to the canvas for viewers to enjoy. My hope for the future is to transition from my teaching work to become and established professional artist. I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you all!
