Artwork Description

“Delicate” captures the quiet grace of a floral arrangement observed closely — a moment of softness translated into colour and line. I began by sketching real flowers and leaves, including carnations and snapdragons, drawn to their gentle curves and layered forms. Working with acrylics, acrylic inks, and Indian ink, I aimed to create a contemporary interpretation that balances structure and flow.
Soft washes of colour mingle with crisp Indian ink outlines, allow the flowers to breathe and drift across the canvas. The loose ink marks and translucent tones give the work its sense of fragility — a calm energy that invites the viewer to pause and simply enjoy the stillness.
This larger piece makes a refined statement, bringing light and freshness to a room. It pairs beautifully with natural textures and neutral palettes.
Ready to hang.

Artist Bio

Tanya is a Brisbane-based artist chasing colour, chaos and joy across canvas. Her first love is acrylic, but she happily works in watercolour, gelli printing and mixed media—whatever feeds her imagination. Florals bloom large in her work, a nod to her gardening loving family, but you’ll also find birds, bold seascapes and landscapes, reflecting a deep connection to the natural world and a lifelong love of art.

Driven by the thrill of capturing fleeting moments, Tanya lets intuition lead the way—allowing the magic to happen when the ideas, treatments and colours collide. With a background in design and formal training as part of her teaching degree, she brings both intuition and technical skill to her practice. Tanya is a regular at Brisbane’s art workshops, a proud member of weekly painting groups, and she takes the opportunity to volunteer with art activities in her local community. Her work radiates the joy she finds in every brushstroke.
