Artwork Description

Artist Bio

Tanya Lake is a multi award winning photographer turned painter, based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, with her first exhibition in 2019.

With a practice that includes weekly landscape Plein Air sessions, along with live model sketching, she is passionate about storytelling through art & creative expression with the Australian landscape and the natural world being a continual joy & inspiration. She finds this in oceanic landscapes, still life’s, interiors and dreamscapes; images that include surrealist elements – a tiny body in an enormous ocean, the wings of enormous birds, green mangoes, lush tropical plants, and the nocturnal world – moons, stars, the headlights of a Citroen Goddess car making its way through the desert…
