Artwork Description

An elegant nude receives an unexpected bouquet. Inspired by my admiration for clean lines and layered compositions, this piece is set within a tasteful room with objets d'art and is a moody, compelling artwork.

Artist Bio

Tanya Pink likes to capture the human face in ways that honour tradition but defy convention. Tanya uses a limited modern palette and attempts to replicate the mood of classical art studies. She attempts to capture embryonic states of artistic development with her use of colour and the traversing of the subject face from the background.

A standard part of Tanya's creative process is drafting directly onto the canvas and then adjusting as she feels guided. It is for this reason that she uses acrylic paint which allows her to rearrange subject matter instantly. Tanya believes that brush stroke inaccuracies are what make the finished product perfect and although she is resolute with her main colours she rarely knows what to expect with the final result. This perfection in imperfection is a driving force and means that creating art is an exciting adventure for her.

Tanya has always been fascinated by classical sculpture, and it is this, and renaissance art that motivate her.

Her inspirations are Michelangelo, Bronzino, Bastida and Lempicka to name a few.
