Artwork Description

Impressions on the rusting away of metal that saltwater creates , looking into the decay of manmade materials contrasting it with the vide blue of the ocean. Salt creating a brown orange colour siting next to the blue of the sea.

Artist Bio

My relationship with the land is visceral. It pulsates through my art, unveiling views of serpentine river pathways, majestic deltas tinged with rich turquoise blue, imposing rock formations, which take on an almost anthropomorphic form. I work in Encaustic medium which I mix from tree resin and beeswax and colour with oil paint, to confer a translucent sculptural quality to my work. My aerial perspectives elicit a feeling of exhilaration, as if one is flying over the landscape marveling at the beauty of our planet. I cast an objective gaze upon the land, observing its transformation by the hand of man. Yet, even though human beings impose their thoughts, images, and ideals on nature, the land exists regardless, in that transient state between two infinite moments.
Working with Encaustic medium, doing a variety of landscapes , figures and abstracts, interested in light and colour, using transparency with form to create a window to the mind.
