Double Island is a favourite destination for a day trip. Accessible only by 4wd which makes it even more adventurous to get to. White sand, an ever changing lagoon, the crystal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the colourful towering sand dunes lining the beach all the way to Rainbow Beach truly make this a magnificent spot.
At the point, there are a playground of rocks to explore. It feels like a world away as the waves crash in and replenish the rock pools.
This painting is a depiction of what I love about Double Island Point. Just describing it makes me want to be back there. Until I'm able, I will have to settle for dreaming about it.
