Artwork Description

The symbolism of this work personifies the female innocent beauty.  White is the color of youthful innocence and this young lady is like a bride in a white dress in the midst of white magnolias.  Bright birds of paradise are playing with her white bow, trying to untie it and free her blond curls, which are then picked up by the wind and this spring mood with birdsong and floral aroma creates a special mood as if we suddenly appear in the Garden of Eden.

Artist Bio

Tatyana Soboleva is an award-winning Australian artist based in Western Australia whose oil paintings combine a strong foundation in classical drawing and realism with a contemporary decorative sensibility.

Formally trained in Moscow, Tatyana works across figurative painting, portraiture, still life and landscape. The human figure holds a particularly important place in her practice. Her paintings explore mood, presence and quiet narrative through carefully observed form, expressive colour and light, often bringing the figure into dialogue with richly painted fabrics, flowers, interiors and landscape. Across different subjects, her work is united by an interest in atmosphere, beauty and the emotional possibilities of traditional oil painting.

Tatyana has exhibited extensively in Western Australia since 2013, including two solo exhibitions, and has received numerous awards for her work. Her paintings are held in private collections in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Croatia, Ukraine and Russia.
