Hello, and welcome to my profile! I go by Teascone Ninja (an anagram of my actual name), and I'm a South East Queensland based artist. I'd best describe my paintings as modern-day landscapes, that are a mix of expressionist and abstract styles.
The inspiration for my work comes from my surrounds, being based on the edge of the Australian bush, as well as observations of the landscapes when travelling here and abroad. My mark-making is very much intuitive in nature, whereas the overall impressions I form are inspired by light, shade, texture, positive space and negative space. My works are a little bit like what we picture in our minds when we recall a beautiful landscape we'd seen.
Although I have been painting on and off for over 20 years whilst balancing a career in the health industry, I've recently come to the realisation that painting is one of my true loves in life, and that there is no better way to spread that joy than by sharing my pieces here. My works are all created on stretched canvas, are finished with white on the edges, and signed on the back.
