Artwork Description

A vivid abstract composition in which organic forms appear to emerge from a dense environment of deep greens, luminous yellows, oranges and crimson. Rich texture, layered acrylic and expressive linear marks create a sense of growth, tension and transformation.

Artist Bio

Ted Forbes is a Newcastle-based self-taught abstract artist working primarily in acrylic on hessian and canvas. Beginning his artistic journey after retirement, he creates intuitive paintings that explore the relationship between architecture, landscape and organic form. Influenced by Albert Namatjira, Russell Drysdale, Wassily Kandinsky and Nicolas de Staël, his work has found homes with collectors through Blue Thumb and local exhibitions.
