Fault line of light

Acrylic on canvas, this contemporary abstract explores the tension between structure and release. Fractured vertical forms cut through luminous fields of yellow, white and soft neutrals, evoking fault lines, light seepage and quiet resilience. Layered textures and subtle shifts in colour temperature invite the viewer to move slowly through the surface, discovering moments of energy and calm held in balance.

I am a proud father and stepfather of four and grandfather of two who after after retirement from working in construction and mental health for many years finally found time to pursue my lifelong interest in art.
I am self taught and enjoy the satisfaction of experimentation and discovery and the anticipation of what will emerge from the piece being worked on.
I am inspired by many things in nature and the built environment particularly the fleeting and unexpected images you sometimes see out of the corner of the eye in poor light.
