Artwork Description

Held by the weave is an original acrylic painting created on raw hessian mounted to board. Working directly with the coarse weave of the surface, the paint is allowed to sink, catch and break, forming a gestural, semi-figurative presence. Earthy reds, ochres and whites contrast with cooler passages, while decisive lines suggest form without fully defining it. The work embraces texture, imperfection and process, inviting quiet, sustained viewing.
