Artwork Description

Held in Suspension explores balance and tension through softly layered geometry and restrained colour. Muted ochres, greys and violet tones interact with small, deliberate accents of red, creating a quiet sense of movement within a calm spatial field. The linen surface and translucent layers invite close viewing, revealing subtle shifts in tone and texture.

Artist Bio

Ted Forbes is a Newcastle-based self-taught abstract artist working primarily in acrylic on hessian and canvas. Beginning his artistic journey after retirement, he creates intuitive paintings that explore the relationship between architecture, landscape and organic form. Influenced by Albert Namatjira, Russell Drysdale, Wassily Kandinsky and Nicolas de Staël, his work has found homes with collectors through Blue Thumb and local exhibitions.
