Bacon & Eggs

This artwork is watercolour with white gouache added for highlights and detail.

My inspiration for this piece is Ron Swanson, a character from the T.V show 'Parks and Recreation". Ron has a photograph of Bacon and Eggs in his office and his love for bacon is constant throughout the whole show. My partner and I will cook up bacon and eggs quite often and that combined with Ron's love for bacon lead me to paint Bacon and Eggs on a plate. I hope you enjoy the backstory and quirkyness of this painting as much as me.

I love painting with watercolour. As well as working on original works I spend most of my time completing commissioned portraits.


My subjects vary but I love painting wildlife. I'm always trying to push my own boundaries within my practice whether that be testing new techniques, trying out new materials or changing my subject matter.


My recent works are watercolour and I have been experimenting a lot with masking fluid. By using masking fluid as a tool throughout the painting process, I have been able to achieve a great level of detail. Right now, I have been using masking fluid to achieve different texture. This is something I hope to explore in the future.
