A sweet little rainforest study (tropical, not temperate for once).

I enjoyed playing with the different water depths and the sun hitting the fern's fronds. I wanted to keep the brush strokes very free and loose to give a feeling of movement, and the foreground water to look almost blurry, as if shot with a time lapse.

It is being sold unframed with the light wooden edges of the board exposed for contrast, but it would also look lovely with a wooden floating frame to complement it.

I have also shared a picture of this piece next to another of mine called 'The Quiet Places of the Earth'. They are not being sold as a set as their boards are of different thicknesses, but they would look lovely together set close but slightly apart, such as on neighbouring walls.
