Artwork Description

Bright, curious and full of character, Little Reef Explorer celebrates the wonder of life beneath the ocean’s surface. Inspired by the vibrant colours of coral reefs and the playful nature of clownfish, this artwork captures a joyful underwater moment filled with movement, colour and imagination.

Created as an original demonstration piece for one of my children’s art workshops, this painting reflects my passion for making art accessible, fun and inspiring for young creatives. Through bold acrylic colours and expressive Posca pen detailing, I aim to encourage a connection with the natural world while celebrating the beauty of our marine environment.

Part of my ongoing mission to “Save Our Coloured World,” this artwork is a reminder of the extraordinary creatures that call our oceans home and the importance of protecting them for future generations.

Artist Bio

“My artwork is a bold fusion of playfulness and urban edge. I draw inspiration from everyday objects and moments of joy, transforming them with vibrant neon colour palettes, graffiti drips, and explosive textures that shimmer with glitter, sparkles, and metallic hues.
Each piece is designed to feel alive — as though the paint is still wet and bursting off the canvas. I thrive on creating work that is both fun and contemporary, merging street-art energy with a polished, glowing finish.
At the heart of my practice is a desire to capture wonder and excitement, whether through a glowing rubber duck, a burst of dripping colour, or a mural that radiates positivity. My style is unapologetically bold, immersive, and made to leave a lasting impact.”
Growing up on the Central Coast in Wamberal, she now calls Lake Macquarie home, where she lives with her husband and three kids. Terese's artistic journey began in childhood, doodling everything from Looney Tunes to coastal landscapes. With experience in various mediums—thanks to GATS camps and art classes—she even dabbled in tattooing in her twenties. Inspired by her outdoor adventures, her art bursts with color and life. “I use anything that makes a mark,” she says, believing that variety fuels creativity. Her work is a reflection of her unique vision, aiming to inspire and captivate anyone who sees it.
“I, Terese Hudson acknowledges the Traditional Owners and custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to the land, waters and skies, often expressed through art. We pay our respects to artists, Elders and community members past, present and future.“
