Artwork Description

This artwork is inspired by the textures and rich colours of Waratah blooms that I love seeing on my walks in the Blue Mountains. It features red flowers created in mosaic type design with fine white outlines that make the blooms stand out from the blue background. There is a hint of gold on some petals that catch and reflect in different lighting. One of my exhibition pieces created over weeks and will be a prominent feature in any interior.

Artist Bio

Terina has a background of over forty years in advertising, design and photography and is an exhibiting artist with the Royal Art Society at Lavender Bay. Over the past two years her work has sold internationally and paints full time which she finds very special as she is finally able to in her 60's pursue her long passion with art. Terina specialises in large abstract and impressionism pieces that are intended to take the viewer on a journey to look beyond the visual reality. Her expression is intuitive and will start with an idea and feeling which she then allows to evolve thus connecting on a truly personal level. All feature energy and colour that are influenced by nature, experience and emotion. Connecting with her inner emotions is paramount in the artworks creation. Her unique style are all generated from mind and never a replication of an actual visual stimulus. Production involves both physical and emotional connection and is why energy is very evident. She never overworks paint materials and it is very evident that her works express freedom and are uplifting, pure joy of life . Growing up she was obsessed with colour and loves to excite the viewer with its impact. Always generous with paint and material texture, drips and splatters bring each piece alive. Terina's greatest passion with her art is seeing the impression on peoples faces that reflects the hope and joy she puts into each piece. Terina's move to the public arena in September 2015 has been rewarded with many major awards including "Best in Show" and "First" in art competitions (Northern Suburbs A&H Society, Castle Hill Art Society, Parramatta Open Art Award and Baulkham Hills Art Society, finalist in acquisitive 2017 OakHill Art Prize, finalist Hunters Hill Art Prize and selection as an exhibiting artist at 2017, 2018 Hunters Hill Art Festival Pop Up Gallery, "First" Acrylic/Oil Orange Blossom Festival Art ."Best in Show" 2018 Orange Blossom Festival Baulkham Hills Art Society.
