Artwork Description

This work is based on the premise that the ocean has a certain 'horsepower' whereby humans across the ages have been drawn to experience its energy and enthral in its aesthetic qualities. This artwork was inspired by the feel of the ocean on a particular day within Noosa National Park’s Laguna Bay and the equine muse is Warrego William.

The medium of the original artwork is black and white charcoal, and rose pencil, on hand dyed paper which was a featured finalist and sold at the 2020 Du Reitz Art Exhibition. This is the first artwork of Terri's popular 'Ocean and Equine Series'.

This limited-edition is printed on Moab 290gm fine art paper.

Artist Bio

Living in the Noosa hinterland in Queensland aligns with Terri’s affinity for horses and the ocean, so these often feature in her artworks. She has attracted attention for her classically styled, life-size equine portraiture in oil on linen canvas, and aesthetically interesting mixed media drawings on unique papers. In her equine commissions and originals, Terri carefully represents the beauty and character of each revered horse as understood and appreciated by their people. As a surfer and open water swimmer, she translates visual delights encountered in the ocean to her art, offering a literally immersive and sometimes imaginative narrative.
