The Artworks that I produce are a contemporary form of Art Primitive . As I am my own muse , I let my ideas flow to create satirical narratives, using exuberant colours , motifs and textures.
My Artworks are a cross cultural art form , reflecting my country of birth , India and my adopted country Australia, for the past 46 years .
I studied design and fashion at Shillito design school, Grovenor st , Sydney for 3 years . My teachers were Phyllis Shillito (first head of school of arts , Sydney ) and Peter Travis famous for designing the Iconic swimwear Speedos .The schools curriculum was based on the Bauhaus principals of design and art . Subsequently I worked in the fashion industry till 2007 .
After 2007 , I decided to use my knowledge and experience to produce around 50 Artworks, after moving to the northern rivers region of NSW . From Sydney .
I have exhibited in several group shows , in art galleries and art competitions. I have entered the border art prize twice , both these times I was chosen as a finalist. I have sold my Artworks at the Tweed regional gallery, The Channon gallery and Serpentine gallery in Lismore . I regularly exhibit in group shows at the Blue Knob hall gallery. In 2018 , I had a successful solo exhibition at the Fox Den gallery in Lismore.
I hope the viewer of my Artworks, will experience the same joy and pleasure that I received while producing and completing my Artworks.
