The Greek islands are amazing, and my favourite of all the islands is Santorini. Blue and white dominates the landscape, and the intense blue of the Aegean Sea is captivating. Santorini is renowned for its famous churches, many of them blue domed, and also it’s volcanic Caldera, half of which is undersea. This painting was inspired by a holiday I spent in Santorini. The picturesque whitewashed villages are built right on the edge of the Caldera and are a site to behold, and the views are breathtaking. I very much enjoyed doing this painting, as it is one of my favourite places to visit in Europe. I hope you like it.
