Artwork Description

A walk along the beach never fails to make you feel happy and alive. The fresh air, the wind in your hair, the colours and the pristine clear water was a memorable experience the day I took the photo that inspired this painting. The gulls were quietly sunning themselves on the mossy rocks, carefree and oblivious to any movement around them. The tranquillity this painting portrays to the viewer, would make for a calming piece of art featured on any wall.

Artist Bio

My interest in art began in my early teenage years. While living in North East Victoria, I attended numerous classes and workshops with internationally renowned artist, Charles Sluga, who greatly influenced my formative painting years. It was here my love for watercolour began, and I discovered the magic of mixing water and pigment on paper, and the wonderful effects it could create.
My style is realism, and I love to paint portraits and figurative works, especially of children. I also love doing beach scenes, seascapes, street scenes, musicians, and animals.

After moving to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria in 2009, I attended watercolour classes and workshops by renowned artists Greg Allen, Robert Wade, Glenn Hoyle, Tammy Warner, and Ev Hales. My work has been exhibited and sold in joint and solo exhibitions at Oak Hill Gallery Mornington, Peninsula Art Society Frankston, Mornington and Rosebud Rotary Art Shows, Frankston Waterfront Exhibition, Flinders Art Show, Red Hill Art Show, Derinya Art Show Frankston, and Two Bays Art Group, Mornington Peninsula.

In 2013 and 2014, I won Highly Commended Watercolour Awards for my paintings in the Peninsula Art Society Art Shows and Peoples Choice Award in 2016. I have works in private collections nationally and internationally.

In 2021 I relocated to the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland, where I continue to paint, sell my art, and do commissions, and my love for watercolour continues.
