I love getting out to the mudflats of Bushland Beach early in the morning, well before most people are awake, and catching the first light of day. This is a mangrove that I have photographed many times. I love the way it anchors the scene and against the backdrop of cool morning pinks and blues it is the only constant in an ever-changing environment. This is a motif in my work that I am exploring further with each painting, and each photograph - change and stability.
