Artist Bio

Thor Elias Engelstad is a Norwegian born Australia based visual artist, known for his innovative and recognisable characteristic style combination of fashion and fine art photography.

His work has been featured in publications such as A Cultural History of Fashion in the 20th Century, Harper’s Bazaar, W magazine, Cosmopolitan, Oyster, NOI.SE Mag, Vulture Magazine, Carbon Copy, Black Magazine, Laud Magazine, Fucking Young!, Fashion Journal, Frankie Magazine, Yen, UCE Magazine, Lino, Art World, Australian Art Review, Academy for Men, Cleo, and French Photo.

He also has been the recipient of international prizes such as the Gold Award in the fashion category in The Tokyo International Foto Awards, International Photography Awards, International Color Awards, The International Black and White Spider Awards and The Centre for Fine Art Photography in the USA.

He is also involved in many diverse art projects and commissions. Thor Elias has had several solo exhibitions, as well as being represented in many group shows worldwide in New York, LA, Paris, London, Oslo, Sydney, Tokyo, Dubai and Hong Kong.

When not shooting for clients Thor Elias travels the continents adding to his varied influences and inspirations, balancing his personal photo media and visual experimentation work.
