I'm always looking for ways to incorporate transitions into negative space with my work, and the rippling of water offers so much potential for this. The gloss and lustre of the oil paint emphasises the water elements and really makes this painting pop.
This piece is cheeky, sweet and was completed in the one six hour session. As a former zoology student, I've always had a soft spot for wildlife portraits.
