Artwork Description

Girl with a Spacer is a modern twist on Dutch master, Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring. Influenced by the pop art trend of reimagining classic works, Throwaway has updated this iconic piece for the twenty-first century using his signature greyscale style.

Opting for an alternative millennial aesthetic, Vermeer's young female subject has pawned her pearl earrings and traded them in for sixteen-millimetre ear tunnels. She completes the look with double-take worthy sidecut hair flip.

While the original is available for purchase, a limited run of signed art reproduction prints of this piece will also be made available by the artist.
