Artwork Description

Inspired by Norwegian pop music, Don't Kill My Vibe is a vibrant celebration of unapologetic joy, inner radiance, and the kind of energy that refuses to dim for anyone. The central figure feels like a person turned toward the sun — open, glowing, and fully alive.

The background blends organic movement with graphic structure: sweeping curves, checkerboard contrasts, and layered colour fields in teal and electric blue. This interplay of softness and geometry creates a dynamic sense of rhythm, like a pulse of good energy moving through the piece.

Created using street‑art influenced methods — layered acrylics, bold linework, and graphic motifs inspired by mural and urban art practices — the work carries the immediacy and confidence of contemporary street expression while remaining polished and gallery‑ready

Artist Bio

Tiana Justine Clifford McDougall is a multidisciplinary artist and educator from Kingaroy, Queensland, working across contemporary painting and visual arts. Grounded in strong technical foundations, her work explores an interest in presence and energy through visual form and composition.

"My practice centres around an interest in presence. I’m drawn to sprezzatura and the tension between effort and effortlessness, refinement and rawness. I balance technical realism with conceptual disruption, allowing texture, layers and visual language to build meaning over time. There is always a negotiation between control, chance and process, between resolution, restraint and grit.

Grounded in strong technical foundations yet shaped by contemporary digital aesthetics and street-level energy, I move between discipline and risk, design principles and intuition. Working across digital and traditional processes, I create tangible objects of art that capture attention immediately and reward deeper looking."
