Nature is the over-riding thread that binds my body of work. For me, nature is life-giving, soul-filling and my place of peace. Some kids grow up in concrete jungles; I really appreciate that I live in a country where nature surrounds me and my work is an ode to the vivid Natural World from which I derive my inspiration.
The second thread is Experimentation. The start of each work is an opportunity for exploration, never working to a formula. I've recently started using all types of materials and mediums and finding out how and why they work. I've changed my focus when creating art, producing work that reflects how I'm feeling, rather than striving for perfection. By allowing my instincts to guide the paintbrush, I am happily discovering that the possibilities are endless.
In May 2024 I held my first exhibition. This was an invigorating, daring and rewarding experience. I sold 9 paintings and going forward I am excited by what I will discover, uncover and create!
