Painted outdoors, this work is inspired by the bark of a large red gum tree in the bush on Darug land near Sydney. The tree had turned a wound into a vibrant celebration of colour and healing. I use acrylic paint for abstracts to allow me to make loose free marks, highlights are added later with oil pastel. The initial painting can
come together quite quickly but sometimes it takes months to add the final touches and consider it done. Contact me if you'd like to bring the bush in to your home with this lively abstract.
