Sunset

I hope you have plenty of sunscreen, because this painting is so bright it emits it’s own UV rays.

A contrast of blue, yellow and red; the three primary colours doing what they do best and complimenting each other. Let the sharp white draw you further into the painting as you are let on a visual journey along the interesting lines, you will be pleased to find the few little surprises along the way.

For some this painting represents planets and the solar system – I rather like this idea. During the creation, my thoughts did not stray from the intimidating sun and the beauty it brings with it in every day. To be fair the sun is in space, so I guess it doesn’t fall far from the galaxy concept. For me though, it reminds me of a warm and welcoming SUNSET.

My name is Tim Hodgman.

I am an artist from Queensland and have been performing some artistic task since I can remember. I started my work life as a forklift driver with not much future ahead of me, however; I refused to let it get the best of me and pursued the craft that has driven most of my life. From there, my artistic background has mostly been working in film, which is a career that has made me fortunate enough to travel globally.
I have now - being vastly inspired - transformed all the artistic practice I have learned and invested into my painting. This is art that speaks to me and I would hope that it speaks to you as well.
