Artwork Description

The grains on the hardwood are so random. Yet this is a widley used common building product and used in just the wasteful act of wrapping freight in boxes.

I collect the ply from the boxes where I work which is used to hold items like cranes and jacks for transport from china. I then use the grain as the design, stain it with coffee, mustard, wine, and other materials for effect then with a top coat of oil paint.

On this particular painting I used a gloss coat, so it has a shiney appearence

Artist Bio

I’m Tim, a painter based in Newcastle, Australia, just north of Sydney. My work is driven by the joy of creating and the love of exploring ideas through paint. Most of my weekends are spent in the studio, experimenting with styles and techniques, while I work as a delivery driver during the week.

Over time, I’ve curated a collection of over 400 works, each representing a chapter in my artistic journey. My portfolio reflects the styles I’ve explored and the narratives I’ve pursued, from intimate, reflective pieces to larger, concept-driven works. Through my art, I aim to share both personal experiences and universal stories, inviting viewers to engage with each piece on its own terms.
