I am a realist oil painter and large scale collage artist . My collages draw on positive, negative and neutral emotional states which generate a design and selection of materials appropriate to any given state. They become a kind of signnature for a given experience.
My oil paintings also vary in approach depending on mood but are more objective as they are an interation between my eye and natural phenomena.
I have had numerous solo and group exhibitions and have attracted buyers both in Australia and abroad.
One of my collages, "Studio Visitor" which is in this collection, is featured in "The Collage Ideas Book" by Alannah Moore, published by Ilex/Octopus out now.
I am the recipient of numerous art prizes and awards.
I lived and painted in N.E Gippsland in late 2017 and sold all 15 paintings completed there which generated $10,000 toward my current project; a tour of the Mornington Peninsula to do 20 en plein air landscapes for an exhibition in early 2019.
I chose the Mornington Peninsula to paint as it was the place my family and I visited most when I was a child and as such it has a deep resonance. I want to convey in my own way the impact of the bay and the wild ocean that forms the exposed side of the peninsula.
