Tim lives for the unscripted beauty of Rorschach inkblots. Each piece is created in a spontaneous rush—ink spilled, folded, and pressed into symmetrical chaos with no plan, no hidden psychology, just pure, unstructured freedom. Influenced by Hermann Rorschach, Tim is drawn to the aesthetics and method of his inkblots, but where Rorschach used them to analyse the mind, this work invites something different: a conversation, not with the artist, but with the viewer’s own deeper Self.
The inkblots remain untitled because the moment something is named, it becomes fixed. Instead, each piece becomes an open space for free association. Like staring at clouds, one person might say, “That reminds me of…” and suddenly, another sees it too, or, just as likely, not at all! That exchange, that moment of shared or contrasting perception, is where the real art happens.
With a background in improvisational comedy and theatre, Tim brings the same “yes, and” philosophy to inkblots, embracing spontaneity and inviting viewers to do the same. There is no right answer, no fixed interpretation—just a space to wander, reflect, and connect with whatever rises to the surface.
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Tim has been spilling ink and stirring curiosity for the past five years, turning abstract chaos into a playground of perception.
