Artwork Description

This picture is from a memorable trip I took to Kakadu in the Northern Territory of Australia. At a stunning waterfall either called Jim Jim falls or Twin falls, there’s a story behind this scene, Wed had to swim down a river to get to these falls where there were signs for crocodiles! Luckily none were sighted and the tour guide assured us it was safe. But a few months later the place was closed to tourists due to crocodiles!

Artist Bio

I’m an emerging artist with a passion for nature and animals. I paint what I love and what makes me feel joyful - the ocean, plants, flowers, trees, birds, my dogs, and places I travel. I live on Sydney’s lush northern beaches so I’m spoilt for opportunities to paint beauty around me. My artwork has a distinct style, influenced mainly by Impressionism, it’s always colourful and often captures a special moment; of being awestruck and zen. The process of painting for me is like a meditation; so each artwork is soaked in peaceful, positive energy imbued with the memories of that moment I’m painting being relived on the canvas. I hope you experience these happy vibes too from my paintings. I tend to paint in high key with lots of bright contrasting colours, light, and always with high quality materials. My influences include Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Sydney artists Jessica Watts, Nicola Woodcock, Melanie Waugh, Ted Blackall, Kerry Bruce and my talented teachers Petra Pinn and Laurie McKern.
