The urban environment can be a source of both connection and isolation for those living in it but as an artist I find it's a source of endless inspiration. This artwork is one of a series of urban landscapes where I seek to open our eyes to the beauty all around us in simple things such as reflections on a wet street or water drops on a window.
This scene perfectly captures what artists and photographers refer to as the 'Golden Light' - the last hour before sunset and the first hour after sunrise, these times provide the perfect light to capture stunning images. In this case it's the last light of the day hitting the traffic in a city street.
This artwork has a stained Tasmanian oak shadow frame with the framed dimensions of 64cm (w) x 64cm (h) x 5.5cm (d).
