Artwork Description

Nestled within Melbourne's CBD, the forecourt of the State Library stands as a rare open space, a magnet drawing diverse people together it serves both as a crossroads and a rendezvous point. For a brief 10 minutes, I observed this bustling space, capturing a diverse range of individuals immersed in their daily pursuits. Among them, this quartet caught my attention, engaged in animated conversation. Their dialogue, shrouded in mystery, left ample room for speculation and imaginative storytelling. I could be wrong but there seemed to be some 'Mansplaining' going on here.

'Mainsplaining' won the Curator's Choice Award at the 2023 APC Art Show.

This artwork has a stained Tasmanian oak shadow frame with the framed dimensions of 64cm (w) x 64cm (h) x 5.5cm (d).
