'Renaissance Man' is part of a series of unconventional blurred portraits where the faces we see are vaguely familiar yet foreign. In this painting I've 'remastered' a renaissance Old Master portrait by Italian artist Domenico Tintoretto of fellow artist Francesco Bassano. Sharp lines and detail have been omitted in the painting process of layered aerosol paint resulting in an image as if seen though squinting eyes or an unfocussed camera.
