This is a portrait of my brother, a child of the 80s. “Delighted He Became” is a phrase from Rainbow Fish, as the fish realised the joy of sharing his rainbow scales.
Brisbane-based artist Tom Gibbs is a Victorian College of the Arts graduate, honored with the Ian Potter Scholarship and the Graeme Hildebrand Travel Grant. Recognized in numerous awards including twice finalist in the Metro Arts Prize, his art delves into collective memories, exploring the profound connections and universal truths within the human experience.
