A crucible is a place to burn away impurities to arrive at a useful substance. What if the same criteria were applied to our thoughts and ideas. What if we subject our opinions to the rigorous fires of critical thinking within our own heads? It just takes a spark.

In the spirit of this philosophy this painting is made on a reused canvas...a painting obliterated in the pursuit of a better, more considered work. It is a still life made from cellophane, a glass skull, LEDs and wiring.
