Artwork Description

Twirl Cloud was my second ever plein air painting. The location itself is looking west towards the old farmland in the small coastal town of Busselton. As with my first plein air piece and this entire series, my focus was on getting an impression with a minimal amount of brushstrokes. Each brushstroke was to be more or less left where I placed them.

As is probably evident in the title, the focus of this piece is more the sky than the land. It was a rough and stormy kind of day, and the turbulence in the air had my attention more than the muted browns, greens, and reds in the land.
