Artwork Description

I love drinking tea from vintage tea sets. Each cup tells a story. This set was gifted to me by my niece when I was recovering from surgery. The jam was made by my legendary father-in-law from home grown figs, and my pumpkin scones were pretty darn good too! I aimed to capture the reflective light in the pastel lemon and cream, pearlised porcelain with the gold trimming and evoke a sense of sentimental charm and comfort.

Artist Bio

Toni Ware is an Australian, emerging fine artist who achieves a realism style through the combination of a loose, painterly technique with the application of intense detail to her work. Working exclusively with oils, her art is deeply symbolic, often representing societal observations, relationships, connections to and poignant memories of places and moments in time. The capture of light, dramatic shadows and fun, pops of colour are often showcased against neutral tones. Toni describes influences on her work as Cézanne, Caravaggio, Moynihan, Preston, and Beckett. She has exhibited as a finalist in exhibitions in Brisbane, regional parts of Queensland and the Gold Coast.
