Artwork Description

Patting Dog 1985 is a fine art fashion photograph that captures an unguarded moment of affection within an urban setting. Shot in full-length profile, the image shows a woman wearing a Wendy Heather design bending to pat her dog, held gently on a lead.
While the garment is presented in a flattering and elegant manner, the photograph moves beyond fashion alone. The interaction between the woman and her dog introduces warmth and intimacy, creating a quiet contrast against the surrounding city environment — a place where such tenderness might not be expected.
The strength of the image lies in its naturalness. Fashion, movement, and emotion converge in a single, fleeting gesture, resulting in a photograph that feels both composed and instinctive. The work reflects an observational approach to fashion photography, where human connection and context are as important as form.
